Given

  • The length of the other two sides of a right - angled triangle = 6 units, 4 units.

To find

  • Length of the hypotenuse

Solution

By using pythagoras theorem -

H² = P² + B²

where,

  • H = hypotenuse
  • P = perpendicular
  • B = base

Substituting the given values,

⟶ H² = P² + B²

⟶ AC² = AB² + BC²

⟶ AC² = 36 + 16

⟶ AC² = 52

⟶ AC = ± √52 Reject - ve

⟶ H = 2 √13 units.

Hypotenuse = 2 √13 units.
