The correct answer is 12.6 kg.

Explanation:

Given,

Weight of zinc in the alloy =9.8kg

The ratio of gold and silver in a sample of electrum =9:7.

Let,

Weight of gold =9x

Weight of silver =7x

9.8=7x

x=1.4kg

∴ Weight of gold in the alloy =9x

=9(1.4)

=12.6kg

Hope it will help you!
