two complemetry angles are 65 and 25

Step-by-step explanation:

sum of complementary angles are 90

let two angles are x and y

x+y=90

x-y=40

add both the equation

2x=130

x=65

put value of x in eq 1

y=25

Answer :

  • 65⁰ and 25⁰ are the angles

Given :

  • The difference of the measurements of the two complementary angles is 40 degrees

To find :

  • Angles

Solution :

  • Let the bigger angle be x
  • Let the smaller angle be y

Given that,

  • The difference of the measurements of the two complementary angles is 40⁰ then ,
  • x - y = 40⁰

》x - y = 40⁰ .... (1) equation

As we know that ,

  • Complementary angles = 90 then
  • x + y = 90

》x + y = 90⁰.... (2) equation

Now Substitute the value eq (1) and (2) we get ,

》x - y + x + y = 90 + 40

》2x = 130

》x = 130/2

》x = 65

Hence , x = 65

Now , putting the value x = 65 in equation (2) we get ,

x + y = 90

》65 + y = 90

》y = 90 - 65

》y = 25

Hence y = 25

Therefore , 65 and 25 are the angles
