Answer:

Let the mass of oxygen and methane  = xgm

moles of oxygen(O_2) = \frac{x}{32}

moles of Methane(CH_4) = \frac{x}{16}

mole fraction(χ) = \frac{n_{O_{2}}}{n_{total}}

\chi = \frac{\frac{x}{32}}{\frac{x}{32}+\frac{x}{16}}\\\\\chi = \frac{\frac{x}{32}}{\frac{3x}{32}}\\\\\chi = \frac{1}{3}

Partial pressure = Total pressure x χ

Partial pressure = 1 \times \frac{1}{3} atm

Partial Pressure = 0.33 atm

Might help Thanks!!!!!!
