Explanation:

(a) As studied by the student, food chain goes like this:

Weed→ Tadpoles→ Water beetle

Here, in one part of pond tadpoles are scraping the pond weed and in other part water beetle holds the tadpole in its jaws which defines that weed is eaten by tadpoles and further tadpoles are eaten by water beetle

(b) Links defines the number of trophic levels, here in this food chain first trophic level is weed, second is tadpoles and third is water beetle hence in total there are three trophic levels or links
