Solution :-

Let us assume that, salary of employee is Rs.10 .

so,

→ Rs.10 ------------ 20% reduced ------ = 10 - (20% of 10) = 10 - 2 = Rs.8

→ Rs.10 ------------ 15% reduced ------ = 10 - (15% of 10) = 10 - 1.5 = Rs.8.5

→ Rs.10 ------------ 10% reduced ------ = 10 - (10% of 10) = 10 - 1 = Rs.9

then,

→ 10 * 10 * 10 ------- Total reduced price = 8 * 8.5 * 9 .

→ 1000 ---------- = 612 .

therefore,

→ Successive rate of decrease = (1000 - 612) * 100 / 1000 = (388 * 100) / 1000 = 38.8% .

given that, second decreased rate is also 38.8% . Both are equal .

hence, the employee can choose any option , his salary will be decreased by 38.8% .
