The value of y is -8

Given:

\frac{3 y+4}{2-6 y}=-\frac{2}{5}

To find:

The value of y

Solution:

The Given equation is

\frac{3 y+4}{2-6 y}=-\frac{2}{5}

On shifting the denominators to numerators, we get

5(3 y+4)=-2(2-6 y)

Now, multiply 5 with (3y+4) and -2 with (2-6y),   we get,

15y+20= -4+12y

Now, bring the y terms on left hand side and shift the constants on right hand side.

15y-12y= -4-20

3y= -24

y=-\frac{24}{3}=-8

Therefore, the value of y = -8
