Subject- Women are Unsafe in Delhi

Dear Sir,

I am writing this letter with deep concern over the increasing number of violence and crimes against women in Delhi. I also want to draw attention of the concerned authorities about women safety in our country and especially in Delhi. We always hear that our government is working hard for the betterment and prosperity of the people, on the other side, it’s very painful to read the news of the cases of sexual harassment, physical abuse, rapes, molestation, trafficking, violence against women in houses etc.

We are celebrating our 70 years of Independence this year and the situation of this country is that we still find news in our city about violence against women. There are many laws in the Constitution of the country but that has not changed anything and there are still people out there in our city who rape girls and commit such crimes. People are very afraid of sending their girls, women alone on the streets and roads.

Why people harass and abuse girls in our country? Are these people not afraid of laws? We must establish fast tracks courts with fair trial in our country especially for such crimes. Government should take immediate actions in order to stop these crimes against women. The laws in our country are not followed properly. Laws should be reconsidered and made strong enough so that no one could ever imagine of doing such bad things.

I hope that you will consider and highlight this serious issue and raise awareness among the people through your newspaper. Concerned authorities might also notice this matter through the columns of your newspaper for necessary measures in this city.

Immediate attention to this issue is requested.

Thanking you

Yours faithfully,

Ranjana
