Answer:

Let t be tea, and s be sugar. Then:

1t+4s=35

If sugar rises by 50%, then s becomes (1+50%)s, or 1.5s. Likewise, tea becomes 1.1t. So:

1.1(1t)+1.5(4s)=42.50

1.1t+6s=42.50

1t+4s=35

Then solve for s …………………

Answer:

Let T and S be the price per Kg of Tea and Sugar respectively

You are given that

1*T + 4*S = 35 . . . . (1) and

1.1*T + 4*1.5*S = 42.5 . . . . . (2)

multiply (1) by 1.1

1.1*T + 4.4*S = 38.5 . . . . . (3)

(2) - (3) => 1.6*S = 4 =>

S = 2.5 rs per Kg
