First find the distance of D from A & G . i.e AD & DG.
If AD = DG , then D is the mid point of AG otherwise not.

Total length from A to G is 6 units
From the figure , it is observed that AD= AB+BC+CD
AD= 1+1+1= 3 units
DG= DE+ EF+FG
DG= 1+1+1= 3 units
Now , AG= AD+ DG= 3+3= 6 units
& AD= DG=3 units
So, D lies between A & G .
Hence, D is the mid point of AC.
