Soil erosion is a gradual process of movement and transport of the upper layer of soil (topsoil) by different agents – particularly water, wind, and mass movement – causing its deterioration in the long term.

Deccan Plateau is made up of lava, due to the volcanic fissure erruption. The soil in this area is the weathered form of this lava rocks only. And this is the reasoleaching is the loss of water-soluble plant nutrients from the soil, due to rain and irrigation. ... As water from rain, flooding, or other sources seeps into the ground, it can dissolve chemicals and carry them into the underground water supplyn of their black color. It is largely called Black soil or regur soil.
