The word ''Taxon" refers to "Rank". In other words you can say that each and every unit of classification is what we call as "Taxon".

Like the most basic unit of classification is Species. And the one which gets higher Taxon is Kingdom.

Kingdom (Keep)

Phyllum(Pot)

Class(Clean)

Order(Otherwise)

Family(family)

Genus(gets)

Species(sad)

Answer :

A particular level of hierarchy in the classification of living beings is called a taxon. For example, the basic level of classification is species, followed by genus, family, order, class, phylum or division, in ascending order.
