Here are some arguments in favour of the right to vote for women.
Which of these are consistent with the idea of equality? Give reasons.
(a) Women are our mothers. We shall not disrespect our mothers by denying them the right to vote.
(b) Decisions of the government affect women as well as men, therefore they also should have a say in choosing the rulers.(c) Not granting women the right to vote will cause disharmony in the family.

(d) Women constitute half of humanity. You cannot subjugate them for long by denying them the right to vote.

ANSWER :  

(a)Not consistent with principal of equality.

(b) Consistency with principle of equality

because this argument is based on decision making and both women and men should be given equal rights in political sphere in decision making.Women and men both are equally affected by the decision of the Government.  

(c) Not Consistent with principal of equality

because both women and men should be given Right to vote and right to vote has no link with the family.

(d) Consistent with principal of equality

because it is a democratic. If women are not given the right to vote, a large section of the population with women unrepresented in the government and the democracy will not be a success.
