Answer: pH of solution is = 1.88

p_{K_a} of bromo acetic acid = 2.69

Explanation:

BrCH_2COOH\rightarrow BrCH_2COO^-+H^+

 cM              0             0

c-c\alpha        c\alpha          c\alpha

So dissociation constant will be:

K_a=\frac{(c\alpha)^{2}}{c-c\alpha}

Give c= 0.1 M and \alpha = 0.132

K_a=\frac{(0.1\times 0.132)^2}{(0.1-0.1\times 0.132)}=0.002

pK_a=-log[K_a]

pK_a=-log[0.002]=2.69

Also pH=-log[H^+]

[H^+]=c\alpha=0.1\times 0.132=0.0132M

pH=-log[0.0132]=1.88
