Explanation: Let no. of brothers be x, sisters be y

According to question when A( brother) is saying :-

x-1 = y, therefore x-y = 1 -> (i)

When B(sister) is saying

x = 2(y-1), therefore x-2y = -2 -> (ii)

On subtracting i & ii

y = 3

Put value of y in eq i

x-3=1

x=4

Therefore Brothers are 4 and sisters are 3
