 Sales Tax(ST)

It is the amount   charged by the government on the sale of an item.

It is collected by the shopkeeper from the customer and given to the government. This is, therefore, always on the selling price of an item and is added to the value of the bill.

Sales Tax = Price x Tax Rate

If the tax is x%, then Total price after including tax would be

Final Price= Cost of item + (x/cost of item) X100

Solution:

Given: Price of a TV is ₹ 13,000

Rate of tax= 12%

Sales tax=tax  rate× price

Sales tax =( 12/100) × 13000

Sales tax=₹ 1560.

Final price after including tax= 1560+ 13000

= ₹ 14560

The amount that Vinod will have to pay if he buys it= ₹ 14560

Hope this will help you...
