Question-
A block is moving on a inclined plane making an angle 45° with the horizontal and co - efficient of friction is µ. The force required to just push it up the inclined plane is 3 times the force required to prevent it from sliding down. If we define N = 10µ, then N = ?

Thanks in advance :)

Explanation:

Let force F is applied to just prevent the block from sliding then ,

u mg cos45°+F=mg sin45° .....(1)

the force required to push it up is 3F then,

3F= u mg cos45° + mg sin 45° .....(2)

from (1) and (2) we get,

u (meu) = (√2 ×F)/mg.

=> N= (10√2)F/mg
