question :- a body of mass 10 kg starting from rest accelerates uniformly to a speed of 30 metre per second in 10 seconds brakes are applied and the body stops in next 5 seconds so what is the total distance travelled by the car?

Given :-

Mass of body = m = 10 Kg

Velocity of body = u = 30 ms-¹

Total time = 10 + 5 = 15 s

v = u + at

a = u/t

a = -30/10

a = -3 ms-²

As we know that when brakes will be applied its acceleration will start decreasing and a time will come when it be on rest position.

So let the distance travelled = S

S = ut + 1/2at²

S = 30 × 15 - 1/2 × 3 × 15 × 15

S = 450 - 337.5

S = 112.5 m

Hence,

The total distance travelled = S = 112.5 m

Given :-

* 2.0

Mass of body = m = 10 Kg

Velocity of body = u = 30 ms-1

Total time = 10 + 5 = 15 s

v=u + at

a = u/t

a = -30/10

a = -3 ms-2

As we know that when brakes will be applied its acceleration will start decreasing and a time will come when it be on rest position.

So let the distance travelled = S

S = ut + 1/2at?

S= 30 x 15 - 1/2 x 3 x 15 x 15

S= 450 - 337.5

S = 112.5 m

Hence,

The total distance travelled = S = 112.5m

Thnx ✌️✌️
