Given :

  • Perpendicular (P) = 8m
  • Base (B) = 2m

To Find :

  • Find Hypotenuse (H) / Length of ladder ?

Solution :

  • Length of Ladder = BC
  • Height of Wall = BA
  • Distance btw. Wall & Ladder = CA

Applying Pythagoras Theorem :

➣ (Hypotenuse)² = (P)² + (B)²

➣ (BC)² = (BA)² + (CA)²

➣ (BC)² = (8)² + (2)²

➣ (BC)² = 64 + 2

➣ (BC)² = 68

➣ BC = √68

➣ BC = 8.24m [approx]

Hence,

  • Length of the Ladder is 8.24m.
