Answer:

a)Salient features of Kingdom Monera:

Size: The organisms included in this kingdom are microscopic, unicellular, and prokaryotic.

Occurrence: These are omnipresent. ...

Nucleus: These organisms do not have a well-defined nucleus.

b)Cocci (or coccus for a single cell) are round cells, sometimes slightly flattened when they are adjacent to one another. Bacilli (or bacillus for a single cell) are rod-shaped bacteria. Spirilla (or spirillum for a single cell) are curved bacteria which can range from a gently curved shape to a corkscrew-like spiral.

c)Every recognized species on earth (at least in theory) is given a two-part scientific name. This system is called "binomial nomenclature." These names are important because they allow people throughout the world to communicate unambiguously about animal species.

(A) Monera is derived from a Greek word Moneres which means single . These are most primitive organisms . It includes all unicellular prokaryotic organisms

Some salient features of monera are :-

♦ Organisms which belong to Kingdom Monera are ubiquitous in distribution i.e found in water , air , soil , high temperature , low temperature , in our body → everywhere

♦ They lack nuclear membrane.

♦ Membrane bound organelles are absent like mitochondria, lysosomes , endoplasmic reticulum, plastids, Golgi bodies , etc.

♦ They contain 70S type of ribosomes

♦ Most of membranes of Monera have cell wall made up of peptidoglycan but in some don't have a cell wall like Mycoplasma .

♦ They show different modes of nutrition such as autotrophic, parasitic, heterotrophic , or saprophytic

♦ Reproduction in such organisms is primarily asexual by the process of fission or budding.

Protosexual phenomenon also occurs in such animals.

♦ Monera are divided into two groups :-

1 ) Eubacteria

2 ) Archaebacteria

(B) Bacillus is derived from Greek word . The shape of bacillus will be Rod shaped .

Examples :-

♦ Lactobacillus

♦ Bacillus anthracis

Coccus is a Greek word . The shape of coccus will be spherical or ovoid .

Example :-

♦ Streptococcus

(C) \clubsuit\: \: \sf\bold{\red{Binomial \:  nomenclature}}

☆ Bino = two

☆ mial = parts

☆ nomen = name

☆ clature = calling

It is a system of providing organism with a distinct name that consists of two parts .

Binomial nomenclature is important because of three main reasons :-

1 ) We give two different animals one name

2 ) Same plant and same animal have different names in other areas and in other languages

Like , Loin in Hindi is known as "shair" , in Africa Loin is known as "simba"

3) Some common names are misleading i.e they are wrong name but we call it .

Examples :-

1 ) Jelly fish : It's not a fish but belong to Coelenterata

2 ) Silver fish : It's also not a fish but belong to Arthropoda

3 ) Star fish : It is also not a fish but belong to Echinodermata

So , that's why Binomial nomenclature is important .
