A3ohm, a 5ohm and a 4ohm resistor are connected in series across a battery. The voltage drop across a 3ohm resistor is 6V. What is the battery
voltage?​

Answer:

total resistance of series =R1+R2+R3

effective resistance=30+50+40= 120 ohm

we know om's low V=I*R

where v is voltage

I is current

R is resistance

current in series will be same for all the resistors

at 30 ohm resistor

6volt =I*30ohm

so I= 1/5 amp

for the total resistance the voltage will be voltage at battery

so

Voltage at battery = (1/5)*120 = 24 volt
