correct question:-

an aquarium is in the form of a cuboid whose external measure are 80cm x 30cm x 40cm. the base, side Face and back face are to be covered with q coloured paper. find the area of the paper needed?

solution:-

  • the length of the aquarium = l = 80cm
  • wide of the aquarium= b = 30cm
  • height of the aquarium = h 40cm

area of the base = l x b = 80 x 30 = 2400cm²

area of the side Face = b x h = 30 x 40 = 1200cm²

area of the back face = l x h = 80 x 40 = 3200cm²

required area :

= area of base + area of back face + ( 2x area of side Face)

= 2400 + 3200 + (2 x 1200)

= 8000cm²

hence the area of the colored paper required is 8000cm²

question:-

in a building there are 24 cylindrical pillars. the radius of each pillar is 28 cm and height is 4m . find the total cost of painting the curved surface area of the pillars at the rate of 8 per .

Answer :-

Radius of cylindrical pillars, r = 28cm

here we are converting cm to m

>> 28cm = 0.28m

so,

  • radius = 0.28m
  • height = 4m

curved surface area of a cylinder = 2πrh

>> curved surface area of a pillar:

 = 2 \times \frac{22}{7} \times 0.28 \times 4

>> curved surface area of 24 such pillars:

 = 7.04 \times 24 = 168.96 {m}^{2}

cost of painting an area of 1m² = $ 8

therefore, cost of painting 1689.6m² =

 = 168.96 \times 8

 = 1351.68

hence the total cost of painting the curved surface area of all pillars at the rate of $ 8 per

The length of the aquarium = l = 80cm

Wide of the aquarium= b = 30cm

Height of the aquarium = h 40cm

Area of the base = l x b = 80 x 30 = 2400cm²

Area of the side Face = b x h = 30 x 40 = 1200cm²

Area of the back face = l x h = 80 x 40 = 3200cm²

Required area :

= Area of base + area of back face + ( 2x area of side Face)

= 2400 + 3200 + (2 x 1200)

= 8000cm²

HENCE, the area of the colored paper required is 8000cm²
