The mass of CuCO3 = 115.5g
The mass of CuO formed = 77g
Mass of CO2 formed = ?
According to law of conservation of mass, the mass before and after the reaction will be the same.
So,
Mass of CuCO3 = Mass of CuO + Mass of CO2
115.5g = 77g + Mass of CO2
Mass of CO2 = 115.5g - 77g
Mass of CO2 = 38.5g
Here, the law of Conservation of Mass is taken into consideration.
