About:- Here the given question is about forests. So first lemme explain what is forest.

Forest:-

  • When we imagine forests first we will get in mind the picture of trees.Trees ate the defining features of the forests but a forest is much more than collection of trees.

  • A forest is a community of myriad plants , animals , fungi , lichens and a host of micro organisms.

  • Forest communities extent from the crown of tall trees.

  • Simply we can say forest is a community of trees and other organisms.

1)Tropical evergreen forest:-

  • Tropical evergreen forest are also known as Tropical rain forest

  • These type of forest are found near equator close to the tropics.

  • These regions are very hot.And these regions get more rainfall.

  • As there is no particular season in this region like all leaves get shed.This is reason they called ever green.

  • Here we can find canopies which will not allow the sunlight upon on the ground even in daytime.

Examples:-

  • Rosewood
  • Ebony
  • Mahagony etc.

2)Tropical deciduous forests:-

  • Tropical deciduous forests are the monsoon forest.

  • These regions of found in the large part of India ,Northern Australia and Central America.

  • These regions experience seasonal changes.

  • This region tress shed their leaves in dry season and save water.

Example:-

  • Sal
  • Neem
  • Teak etc

3)Temperate evergreen forests:-

  • Temperate evergreen forest for the mid latitudinal coastal region.

  • They are commonly found along the Eastern margin in south east USA China and Southeast Brazil.

  • They comprises both hard and soft wood trees.

Example:-

  • Oak
  • Pine
  • Eucalyptus.

4)Temperate deciduous forests:-

  • Temperate deciduous forests are found in hugerlatitude like North east part of U.S.A , China etc.

  • The trees present in this region shed their leaves in dry season.

  • Fox,Deer,Wolf are the common animals found here.

Examples:-

  • Oak
  • Ask
  • Beech etc

5)Mediterrean vegetation :-

  • The most of the north end not margin of the continent are covered with temperate evergreen and deciduous trees.

  • The Western south-west margin of continent is covered with Mediterranean vegetation.

  • These regions are mainly found around the Mediterranean sea like in Europe Africa Asia.

  • In this region citrus fruit trees are grown .(Oranges , figs, olives , grapes)

  • In these region we can't find the wild life.

6)confireous forest:-

  • Confireous forest are seen in higher latitudes and altitudes.

  • These regions are also known as Taiga.

  • The tall evergreen trees are grown in this region.

  • The wood of these region tress contain pulp which are used in making of paper.

  • Silver fox,polar bear ,Mink are the special animals found here.

Importance:-

The importance of the forests cannot be underestimated we depend on forest for our survival from the air we breath to water we drink .

Forest provide Habitat for animals and livelihoods for human prevent soil erosion and mitigate climate change.

Forest are an important part of our ecosystem.The plants and animals in an area with their inter relationship with each other and their surroundings is called ecosystem.

There are 5 types Of Forests :-

  • Tropical Evergreen Forests.

  • Tropical Deciduous Forests.

  • Montane Forests.

  • Mangrove Forests.

  • Thorn Forests.

Tropical Evergreen Forests :-

They are known as Rain Forests. The region is warm and wet. There is no definite time for trees to shed their leaves.

✔ Plants Found Here :- Ebony, Mahogany, Rosewood etc.

Tropical Deciduous Forests :-

These are called Monsoon Forests. Their trees shed their leaves for about six to eight weeks in dry summer.

✔ Plants Found Here :- Teak, Bamboo, Neem etc.

Montane Forests :-

These are found in Mountains. These are found in the southern slope Of Himalyans.

Mangrove Forests :-

These are the tidal forests. These are submerged in water.

These regions recieve less than 70cm of rainfall. These are found in North-Western part of the country.
