In this Case

Given

  • Mass (m) = 10 kg
  • Force (F) = 20 N

To Find

  • Acceleration

Calculating Acceleration

Formula Used :- F = m × a

Substituting Values

☞ 20 = 10 × a

☞ 20 = 10a

☞ 10a = 20

☞ a = 20/10

☞ a = 2

Therefore, we got Acceleration 2 m/s²

Additional Information

  • Force is defined as a Push or Pull
  • SI unit of Force is Newton
  • Acceleration is defined as Rate of change if Speed per unit Time
  • SI unit of Acceleration is m/s²

Three Equations of Motion

  • v = u + at
  • s = ut + ½ at²
  • v² - u² = 2as

GIVEN:

  • Mass of a body = 10 kg
  • Force applied on the body = 20 N

TO FIND:

  • What is the acceleration of the body ?

SOLUTION:

Let the acceleration of the body be 'a' m/

To find the acceleration of the body, we use the formula:-

F = m \times a

  • Mass = 10 kg
  • Force = 20 N
  • Acceleration = a m/

According to question:-

On putting the given values in the formula, we get

20 = 10 \times a

20 = 10a

\sf{\cancel\dfrac{20}{10}} = a

2 m/ = a

Hence, the acceleration of the body is 2 m/

Extra Information

✧ First equation of motion v = u + at

✧ Second equation of motion s = ut + 1/2 at²

✧ Third equation of motion u² = 2as
