Answer:

1.50%

2.2.43%

Step-by-step explanation:

  1. MP=RS. 500 SP=RS. 475

Discount =M.P-S.P

=500-475

=25

Discount %=25/500*100

=5%

2.MP=Rs.2050 SP=2000

Discount =M. P-S.P

=2050-2000

=50

Discount %= 50/2050*100

=2.43%

Given :-

Find the discount % in each of the following :

(a.) MP = Rs.500 and SP = Rs.475

(b.)MP = Rs.2050 and SP = Rs 2,000

Here :

  • MP = Market price
  • SP = Selling Price

Formula Used :

Solution :-

Solution (a) :

Here :

{\red{\rightarrowtail}{\bf{MP = ₹500}}}

{\red{\rightarrowtail}{\bf{SP = ₹475}}}

{\red{\rightarrowtail}{\bf{Discount= 500 - 475 = ₹25</p><p>}}}</p><p>

Calculating Discount % :

{:{\longmapsto{{\bf{Discount\% = \frac{discount}{m.p}   \times 100}}}}}

{:{\longmapsto{{\bf{  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:   \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: \frac{25}{500}   \times 100}}}}}

{:{\longmapsto{{\bf{ \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: \frac{25}{\cancel{500} }  \times {\cancel{100}}}}}}}

{:{\longmapsto{{\bf{  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:   \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: {\cancel\frac{25}{5} }}}}}}

{\large{\red{:{\twoheadrightarrow{\purple{\underline{\overline{\boxed{\bf{Discount\% = 5\%}}}}}}}}}}

Solution (b) :

Here :

{\red{\rightarrowtail}{\bf{MP = ₹2050}}}

{\red{\rightarrowtail}{\bf{SP = ₹2000}}}

{\red{\rightarrowtail}{\bf{Discount = 2050 - 2000 = ₹50</p><p>}}}

Calculating Discount % :

{:{\longmapsto{{\bf{Discount\% = \frac{discount}{m.p}   \times 100}}}}}

{:{\longmapsto{{\bf{ \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: \:  \:  \:  \: \:  \:  \:  \:   \frac{50}{2050}   \times 100}}}}}

{:{\longmapsto{{\bf{ \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: \:  \:  \:  \: \:  \:  \:  \:   \frac{50}{\cancel{2050} }  \times {\cancel{100}}}}}}}

{:{\longmapsto{{\bf{ \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: \:  \:  \:  \: \:  \:  \:  \:   {\cancel\frac{50}{20.5}}}}}}}

{\large{\red{:{\twoheadrightarrow{\purple{\underline{\overline{\boxed{\bf{Discount\% = 2.43\%}}}}}}}}}}

Hence :

{\large{\purple{\underline{\red{\underline{\pink{\pmb{\mathfrak{ a.)Discount\% = 5\%}}}}}}}}}

{\large{\purple{\underline{\red{\underline{\pink{\pmb{\mathfrak{ b.)Discount\% = 2.43\%}}}}}}}}}
