Answer:

  • The required distance between AB is 5√2 cm .

Step-by-step explanation:

  • Let the two points be A ( -2 , -3) and B ( 3 ,2).

We have to find the distance between AB

Here, [ x1 = - 2 , x2 = 3 ] & [ y1 = -3 , y2 = 2]

Now, Using Distance Formula:

∴ AB = √[( x2 - x1)² + ( y2 - y1)²]

  • AB = √[ {3 - ( -2)}² + {( 2 - ( -3)}²]
  • AB = √[ ( 3 + 2)² + ( 2 + 3)²]
  • AB = √[ (5)² + (5)²]
  • AB = √[ 25 + 25 ]
  • AB = √50
  • AB = √50 AB = 5√2 cm

Therefore, the required distance between AB is 52 cm.

 \huge \underline \mathfrak {Solution:-}

We have to find out the distance between the two points (-2,-3) and (3,2).

For finding the distance between two points we can use the given formula.

Distance  =  \sqrt{ {(x_1 - x_2)}^{2}  + {(y_1 - y_2)}^{2} }

According to question,

x_1 =  - 2 \\  \\ x_2 = 3 \\  \\ y_1 =  - 3 \\  \\ y_2 = 2

Now,

Distance  =  \sqrt{ {(x_1 - x_2)}^{2}  + {(y_1 - y_2)}^{2} }

 =  \sqrt{ {( - 2 - 3)}^{2}  +  {( - 3 - 2)}^{2} }  \\  \\  =  \sqrt{ {( - 5)}^{2}  +  { (- 5)}^{2} }  \\  \\  =  \sqrt{ {5}^{2}  +  {5}^{2} }  \\  \\  =  \sqrt{ {5}^{2}(1 + 1) }  \\  \\  = 5 \sqrt{2}  \: units

So, the distance between the points is 5√2 units.
