The soil is composed of three main substances:-


(I) $\bf{Silica}$-. IT is present in the soil in the form of small crystalline grains, the main constituent of sand. It is derived from the disintegration of rocks.




2) $\bf{Clay}$-- It is mixture of silicates and many other minerals such as aluminium. Clayey soil retains moisture.




3) $\bf{Chalk}$--It provides the most essential element for the plant growth which is calcium
