Answer:

The pressure exerted by the gas molecule is 10⁰

Explanation:

Given :- 10²² Gas molecule

mass = 10⁻²⁶

Area = 1m² ,speed = 10⁴m/s

time = 1sec

We have to find the pressure exerted by the gas molecule:-

Momentum imparted to the surface one collision

∆P = Pi - Pf = mv - -(mv) = 2mnv [From eq (1)]

So, pressure on the surface

P = F/A = 2mnv/A

Here, m = 10⁻²⁶ kg , n = 10²²/s

V = 10⁴m/s ,A = 1m²

∴ Pressure , p = 2×10⁻²⁶ ×10²²× 10⁴ / 1 = 2N/m²

So, pressure exerted is order of 10⁰
