Answer: (D) 6 kPa

Explanation:

We know,

Hydrostatic pressure = dgh

HP (at A) = (0.4 m)(10 m/s^2)(1000 kg/m^3)

=> HP (at A) = 4 kPa

(If done keeping CGS units, you'll get result in Barye which is 1/10th of 1 Pascal.)

HP (at B) = (1 m)(10 m/s^2)(1000 kg/m^3)

=> HP (at B) = 10 kPa

Now, ∆HP = Pressure in B - Pressure in A

=> ∆HP = 10 kPa - 4 kPa = 6 kPa or 6000 Pa.

Therefore, difference in pressure or change in pressure is of 6000 Pa.
