Question hour:-

  • The first hour of every working day is kept as question hour or the time is decide by speaker in Lok-Sabha.
  • This is intended to keep proper functioning of the government. Aby members of the house can ask questions from the government on matter of public interest.
  • The types of questions which can be asked are:-
  1. STARRED QUESTIONS:- THOSE QUESTIONS TO WHICH MEMBER WISHES TO HAVE ORAL ANSWERS.
  2. UNSTARRED QUESTIONS:- THE QUESTION WHICH SHOULD BE GIVEN ANSWERS BY WRITING.
  3. SHORT NOTICE QUESTIONS:- THESE QUESTION ARE ASKED WITH NOTICE SHORTER THEN OF 10 DAYS.THESE QUESTION ARE RELATED TO IMPORTANT MATTERS.

ZERO HOUR:-

  • IT IS A PERIOD WHICH BEGINS SOON AFTER 12'O CLOCK (SOON AFTER THE QUESTION HOUR ).AND IT CONTINUE TILL 1'O CLOCK TILL LUNCH TIME.
  • IN THIS PERIOD MEMBER CAN ASK ANY QUESTION WITHOUT ANY PERMISSION.
  • THE PRESIDING OFFICER HAS RESPONSABILITY TO CONTROL THE HOUSE.
  • CHARGES AND COUNTERCHARGES ARE INTERRUPTED BY THE MEMBER.
