Answer:

  • sure that the equations are balanced. In this case, you have 2 moles of gas on the products' side and 5 moles of gas on the reactants side → Kp≠Kc . Since you have 2 moles of gas on both sides of the equilibrium, you will indeed get Kp=Kc .

Given: The given reaction is N_2(g)+O_2(g)⇌ 2NO(g).

To find: We have to find the relationship between Kp and Kc.

Solution:

The given reaction is N_2(g)+O_2(g)⇌ 2NO(g).

Here one mole of nitrogen and one mole of oxygen gas reacts to produce two moles of NO.

The relationship between Kp and Kc is

Kp=Kc×{(RT)}^{∆n}

Here ∆n= number of mole of product-number of moles of reactant.

∆n=2-2

∆n=0

Thus we can write-

Kp=Kc×{(RT)}^{0}

Kp=Kc×1

Kp=Kc

So, the relationship between Kp and Kc is Kp=Kc.
