Answer:

hope this helps u :-)

Explanation:

“The Accursed House” is a short story written by Emile Garbriau in which she beautifully describes as to how difficult it is to understand how human minds could work. Humans cannot wholeheartedly accept any favour that is done without an exchange of something in return.

She explains this very nature of the human mind by narrating an incident. Vimcomte inherits his Grand uncle’s property and being a man who adheres to principles, he wanted to win the hearts of his tenants by reducing the price of the rent for the house. But his tenants would doubt him why he reduced the price for no reason and for no good to him.

Very soon, rumours start spreading about the house. All the people including the tenants thought there is something terribly wrong with the house. Some of them thought it is haunted, some thought that there are some illegal activities going on with the house and many other negative opinions rose in the minds of the people. People even started treating him like a criminal who is hiding something suspicious in the building.

The story sarcastically and filled with humour, clearly explains to us that people don’t believe you to be so good that you can do a favour to someone at no cost.
