Answer (i). The magnetic field makes the charged particles to cross the gap between the dees again and again by making it to move along the circular path, while the oscillating electric field applied across the dees, accelerates the charged particles again and again.

Answer (ii). The radius of the circular path inside the dee increase in the direct proportion to the velocity of the charge. As a result, the time period of the charge and hence its frequency remains independent of the speed of the charge.

It makes use of the magnetic force on a moving charge to bend moving charges into a semicircular path between accelerations by an applied electric field. The applied electric field accelerates electrons between the "dees" of the magnetic field region

2.If the electron speed at the double frequency is within the electron speed in cyclotron less that c or equal to c and the frequency variation is done in proportion to to the speed variation then the speed of the electron will also be doubled. Otherwise, instant frequency change will not double the speed
