Question. In a test (+5) marks are given for every correct answer and (-2) marks are
given for every incorrect answer.
Radhika answered all the questions and scored 30 marks and get 10 correct answers
b) Jay also answered all the questions and scored (-12) marks though he got 4 correct
answers. How many incorrect answers had they attempted?

Here you go...

Let x be the number of incorrect answers she got. She got 10 correct answers.

5.10+(−2).x=30

50−2x=30

−2x=30−50=−20

x=−20−2=10

Hence number of incorrect answers is 10
