2.Abscissa is the value of the X-coordinate on a coordinate plane.
3.Equation of a Straight Line. Equations of straight lines are in the form y = mx + c (m and c are numbers). m is the gradient of the line and c is the y-intercept (where the graph crosses the y-axis).
4.The point the line crosses the y axis is equal to the content value above. This says that when the above constant is 0, the line represents the x axis. It should be clear that the same applies to the lines parallel to y axis as well where the equations are of the form x= constant. Y=mx+c is standeredequation of line.
5.The graph of a linear equation in two variables is a line (that's why they call itlinear ).
If you know an equation is linear, you can graph it by finding any two solutions
(x1,y1) and (x2,y2) ,
plotting these two points, and drawing the line connecting them.

7.If the line passes through the origin, then you know that (0,0) is on the line. If the line is perpendicular to y=2x+3 then we know the line has slope m=−0.5.
