Answer:

Water pollution is the contamination of water bodies, usually as a result of human activities.

Large amount of domestic sewage is drained in to river. Domestic sewage contains toxicants, solid waste, plastic litters and bacterial contaminants and these toxic materials causes water pollution.

Erosion of shallow soils can decrease the thickness of the root zone and the amount of air, water, and nutrients available to plants.

Detergents also add another problem for aquatic life by lowering the surface tension of the water. Organic chemicals such as pesticides and phenols are then much more easily absorbed by the fish.

Washing clothes in water bodies results in water pollution, this is because the soap and detergent used in bathing or washing contain certain chemicals which can pollute the rivers . Therefore leading to water pollution. It also results in death of marine life.
