Consider the two sectors both have equal areas as the radius is 16. Find the area of on sector. Find area of triangle. Subtract area of triangle from the area of sector. You will get area of segment.
Since sectors are two, segments will also be two. So double the area of the segment.
Find the area of the square and subtract the area of segments from it. You will get the area of shaded region
