10.let original lenght of strips be x+10

so x+10+x=50

2x=40

x=20

total lenght of strip=30cm

now she wants to get 56

30+30-y=56

y=4cm

just shift the block to one side....(its actually given to confuse u)

12.the largest total will be possible when the individual elements are large

largest units place:9

largest tens place:2      (not 3 cause 39 doesn't exist)

therefore the date is 29

2+9=11

2+9+1+1=13

but this is wrong as the second one ie 11 is not large enough (the digits 1 and 1)

so lets take 27

7+2=09

7+2+0+9=18

since we got 18 therefore A,B,C,D are rejected as they are less than 18

so our answer is option E
