Sexual Reproduction: It's a type of reproduction in which two individuals are involved. It plays a prominent role in the origin of new species. Hereditary characters vary from one generation to next generation.

Asexual Reproduction: It's a type of reproduction in which only one individual is involved. It's role in the origin of new species is minimum. Hereditary characters remain same.

The one reproducing sexually will have better chances of survival because sexual reproduction leads to variations when the process of DNA copying occurs. The variations further leads to the survival of the fittest in that environment.
