Let the number of benches in the class room be x.
Then, 6(x+1) = 7x-5
6x + 6 = 7x - 5
6 + 5 = 7x - 6x
=> x = 11
So, the number of students in the class = 7*11 - 5
= 77-5
= 72 students
So, there are total 72 students in that class.
