Okay Mate here's your answer.
Let's take Speed of the train as x
so distance = 300 km
Distance = Speed x time
300 = (x )x Time
Time = 300/x. hours 1)
Now If the speed is increased by 6, then it would be x + 6
Time = distance/Speed
time = 300 / x + 6 Hours
From given condition
300/x = 300/x +6 - 1 ( 1 hr)
300/x - 300/x +6 = 1
1 / x -. 1 / x+6 = 1 / 300. ( dividing by 300)
x +6 / x(sq) + 6x - x / x (sq) + 6x
x + 6 - x / x(sq) + 6x
6 / x(sq) + 6x = 1 /300
6(300) = x(sq) + 6x
1800 = x(sq) + 6x
x(sq) + 6x - 1800
here we get an equation and now let's factorise it
x(sq) + 2 x (x) x 3 = 1800
x(sq) + 2 x (x) x 3 + 3 (sq) = 1800 + 3 (sq)
( x + 3)sq = 1809
x + 3 = +_42.53
x + 3 = 42.53. or x + 3 = - 42.53
x = 42.53 - 3. or x = -42.53 - 3
x = 39.53. or x = - 45.53
Speed can't be negative hence the answer is 39.53km/hr
Hope it helps
