Answer:

 = 1.33333334 hours if ON.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that ,

The battery of a cell phone is enough for 9 hours when the phone is off and 1.5 hours when the phone is on. If the battery of my fully charged phone was discharged in 8 hours,

To find  how long did I have it on?

Now,

If battery of cell-phone is enough for 9 hours when it is OFF.

battery of cell-phone is enough for 1.5 hours when it is ON.

By using the unitary method,

9 hours battery of cell-phone if OFF = 1.5 hours if ON.

∵1 hours battery of cell-phone if OFF = (1.5/9) hours if ON.

∴8 hours battery of cell-phone if OFF = (1.5/9) × 8 hours if ON.

                                                              = 1.33333334 hours if ON.

Therefore, battery will remain charge till  1.33333334 hours when it is ON.
