Then,  age of the father  =  3 x

age of the mother  = 3 x − 9

age of the son  = 3 x − 9/2

3 x − 9/ 2 − x = 7

⇒ 3 x − 9 − 2 x = 1

⇒ x = 23  

Age of the mother   = 3 x − 9 = 60
