Given   :    A, B and C each have money in the ratio 14:17:23. They invest their moneys in different schemes of a bank and get returns at rates in the ratio 15:11: 8.

To find : If the difference in the returns of A and B is Rs115000, what is the total amount of return that the three got together

Solution:

Let say  A  has invested money   14P

             B has  invested  money  17P

            C has invested  money   23P

Returns  are    15R  ,  11R   &   8R

Return for  A  =  14P  * 15R    =  210PR

Return for  B  =  17P  * 11R    =   187PR

Return for  B  =  23P  * 8R    =  184PR

Total Return = 581PR

difference in the returns of A and B is Rs115000

=> 210PR - 187PR = 115000

=> 23PR = 115000

=> PR = 5000

Total Return = 581PR  = 581 * 5000

= 2905000

the total amount of return that the three got together = 2905000
