Solution Given All the four trapezium are congruent and are arranged around a shaded square. Also given Length of one of the parallel sides of trapezium 10 cm And, distance (height) between the two parallel sides of the given trapezium 2 cm So, length of each side of the shaded square 10 cm - (2 cm + 2 cm) = 10 cm - 4 cm = 6 cm So, length of each side of the shaded
Then, The area of the square Side*Side 6*6 = 36 sq cm Hence, the area of the shaded square is 36 sq cm.
