• The Chokri dynasty started their ruling in Thailand from the founding of the Rattanakosin Era and the city of Bangkok in 1782.
• Phra Phutthayotfa Chulalok Maharaj, also known as Rama I, started his reign on 6th April 1782.
• The symbol of the Chokri Monarchy is a symbol composed of the discus (Chakra) and the trident (Trisula), the celestial weapons of gods Vishnu and Shiva respectively.
• Vajiralongkorn, the only son of King Bhumibol Adulyadej, titled Rama IX, is the current king of Thailand. His reign started on 1st December 2016.
