Given that : Sarita's age is 8 years More than the sum of her two sons.

Let, the age of elder son be x years and the age of younger son be y years.

According to the question :

Sarita's age = x + y + 8 .... (1)

Also given that the age of Sarita = 45 years and the difference between age of her sons = 3 years.

Again, according to the question :

x - y = 3 => x = y + 3 ......(2)

On putting the values in equation (1) :

45 = (y+3) + y + 8

=> 45-11 = 2y

=> 2y = 34

=> y = 17

On putting the value of y in equation (2) :

x = 17 + 3

=> x = 20

So, the age of elder son will be 20 years.

I hope it will be helpful for you ✌️✌️
