Answer:

Hey there!! To answer your question, let me tell you a rule:

When any 2 numbers are added, it forms the same number even though their order is reversed. This is known as the commutative property of addition. Eg: 2+3 =5 and even 3+2 = 5.

Step-by-step explanation:

Now, according to the commutative property of addition,let me answer your question .

let one number be x.

Then, the other number will be x-1 ( Since the 2 digits differ by 1)

So, let us form an equation now.

x+ x-1 = 99( sum of the 2 digit number is 99)

2x-1= 99

2x=99+1= 100(since when subtraction goes to the opposite side of the equal to sign, it becomes addition)

2x= 100

x= 100 Divided by 2.

x= 50

So now, we need to find the other number.

the other number =x-1

x-1 =50-1 =49.

So, the 2 numbers are: 50 and 49.

Even if the numbers are reversed it will still be the same number due to the commutative property of addition.
