yes when we go up in the air temperature decreases because of

decreasing velocity of molecule . when we go up in the atmosphere the temperature start increasing with altitude as air get heated by direcctly sun radiation.

so as we go up in atmosphere atmospheric pressure goes on decreasing so the temperature too
